OUR PASTOR'S WELCOME MESSAGE TO YOU
I am delighted to serve as the pastor of the Kelley Presbyterian Church in McDonough, Georgia. I joyfully welcome each of you to our church and to our web site that provides you with a glimpse of our
church’s vision and vitality. We are a Christian faith-community of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A., and our particular purpose is:
“Connecting All Generations to Serve Together With God in Jesus Christ.”
Our church is blessed with all generations of God’s children, and we would like to be your close connection with all generations of people who are serving together with God in Jesus Christ.
We involve all generations of people in our church’s worship and education, in which we “glorify and enjoy God” together. As Presbyterians, we retain the basic biblical beliefs and core concepts of our
church’s history and heritage, (“grace alone, faith alone, Scripture alone”).
We value the church’s past, but venture forward in the present tense of life and faith because we know that we are “always being reformed by the Word of God and call of the Spirit.” We envision our
future in which our church believes, lives, and serves, as a church of our community and our time as well as our Lord. We cherish tremendous traditions, such as interesting Bible studies and discussions;
delicious dinners together on Wednesday evenings; the Christian faith formation of youth; and the responsibility to welcome and love our neighbors. But we are also innovative for the “common good” of
Christ’s Church and our community. For example, the Kelley Church is a member of the United States Tennis Association, and we will soon establish a dynamic youth tennis ministry in our community.
The program will teach beginner’s tennis to elementary school age youth, and will be led by a tennis instructor who is highly certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association. There will
be a nominal fee for youth participation in our church’s tennis program.
I bring a wonderful wealth of ministry experience to McDonough and I enjoy serving as a pastor here. I invite you to visit the Kelley Church and request that you invite me to visit you. I hope
and pray that God blesses your journey of faith, and that your journey coincides with ours. Rev. Dr. Dan Ottaviano
